A vacancy has arisen for a Sgt (Cyberspace ICT) to serve as Long Term Equipment Manager at No1 Radio School (No.1 RS) RAF Cosford on Full Time Reserve Service (Home Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 09 November 2026.
The key responsibility of the Long-Term Equipment Manager is to assist the Project Support Officer (WO BDF) in providing a Capability Management service for the No 1 Radio School including the Aerial Erector School (AES), at Digby. All items of equipment required for training are under the incumbent’s charge
Responsible for:
1. Reviewing the current No 1 RS processes that identify the procurement, modification or relocation requirement of business resources including Ground Training Equipment and Resource (GTE&R).
2. Maintaining the detailed Asset Tacking Data Base (DB). The DB includes the details of all equipment used by the No 1 RS (incl the Aerial Erector School (AES) Digby), in support of training, the equipment’s Support Contracts and a projection of future financial outlay, in the form of a Long-Term Equipment Plan (LTEP).
3. Provide detailed support to the DCTT Asset Management Team. Conducting the frequent engagement required to maintain the DCTT Asset Tracking DB, informing future DCTT LTEP requirements via the DCTT Portfolio Definition Cycle.
4. Act as the No 1 RS technical lead for ensuring all equipment proposed for use in training, complies with the DCTT ICS Policy and higher-level security mandates. In doing so, provide detailed technical advice and guidance to the Training Resources Liaison Officer (TRLO) for all equipment prior to any procurement activity. Conducting detailed research and development activity to support evidence-based decision making.
5. Provide direct support and advice to the Business Support Panel.
6. Sustain the management processes that capture all requests, from inception, through implementation to, ultimately, disposal; In doing so, manage and maintain the ‘Request For Change’ (RFC) database.
7. Maintain the Project Management processes to ensure the co-ordination and ownership of all activities resulting in the successful delivery of the product/service.
8. Manage all aspects of a Long-Term Equipment Plan Management Board meeting, including formulation, case presentation and chairing.
9. Provide detailed assistance to the WO BDF (PSO) with representation at Executive Meetings, including the Quarterly Business Management Meeting.
10. Act as the Deputy Building Custodian. Duties include the creation and maintenance of a detailed floorplan for Bldg 185, Flowerdown Hall. The floorplan is to contain accurate details of room usage, utilisation and equipment used within.
11. Prepare and deliver the brief to No 1 RS Execs at the monthly Business Support Panel (BSP), detailing all current and projected training equipment provision initiatives.
12. Oversee all IT installations within Bldg 185, Flowerdown Hall, ensuring SCIDA compliance.
