Subject to formal establishment, a vacancy will arise for a Warrant Officer 1 (Artificer Sergeant Major) Equipment Support Operations within the Permanent Joint Headquarters, Northwood, on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TaCoS), with an anticipated proposed start date of 1 June 2026.
Task requirements: The Warrant Officer 1 (Artificer Sergeant Major) Equipment Support position is a key role within the Permanent Joint Headquarters in Northwood, starting 1 June 2026. This role requires an individual that is comfortable working independently to demanding timelines and is able to provide clear recommendations and advice to the senior command and deployed units in support of operations. You will be required to support deployed components with accurate and timely Equipment Support advice, so a thorough knowledge of policy and assurance practices is essential. The ability to build a professional network through strong communication is key to the support you will deliver. With a commitment length of 36 months, this full-time reserve role is open to personnel from the Army/REME.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the OPCOM Equipment Support (ES) SME for all PJHQ sponsored operations in support of SO1 ES.
- Provision of ES SME operational planning advice and guidance for current operations and support for the return to contingency.
- Coordinate pan-Defence stakeholders for the effective delivery of ES for Joint operations.
- Planning and coordination of ES capabilities within the Whole Force Concept in support of contingent operations.
- SME provision of ES assurance, policy and guidance for current and future contingent operations.
- Lead and advise on all JAMES activities across PJHQ for all current and future operations.
- Provide ES situational awareness to ACOS, DACOS A and DACOS B.
