Subject to formal establishment, Joint Boarding process and sS Policies, a vacancy will arise for a OF3 to serve as SO2 Integrated Warfare Centre Reserves at Northwood HQ on either ADC, PTVR, VTOD Terms and Conditions of Service (TaCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 1 Aug 26 to 31 Mar 28 with a possible further extension. Up to 180 RSDs per year / total are available for the right candidate to conduct the role.
Unit Function: The role of the Integrated Warfare Centre (IWC) is to optimise and adapt the current integrated force, through concepts and warfare development, to support UK and NATO joint commanders to achieve operational advantage over adversaries, across the continuum of competition.
Position Role: The SO2 IWC Reserves position is pivotal to the successful recruitment and employment of the 35+ part-time Reserve personnel from across the single Services that form an integral part of the IWC workforce. This is a superb opportunity for a motivated and people-focussed OF3 to deliver a highly rewarding role at the heart of a dynamic organisation. The IWC is positioned on the leading edge of Defence and employs a broad portfolio of Reservists across a range of positions to support its specialist outputs. SO2 IWC Reserves is the go-to focal point for all Reserves matters, both for generating new Reserve workforce, and also supporting and sustaining the established workforce. SO2 IWC Reserves works across each of the OF5-led pillars that form the IWC; the successful candidate must be confident and capable of engaging across ranks from 2* to ORs to achieve success.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the SPOC for all Reserve matters in IWC, identifying Reserve workforce solutions to address Regular workforce gaps.
- Liaise routinely with the CSOC Reserves Hub and single Service HQs to generate new positions and manage contract renewals.
- Manage the IWC Reserves budget, tracking in-year spend and delivering monthly forecasts of expenditure.
- Brief routinely at 1* level on Reserve workforce performance / issues.
- Initiate, implement and maintain of Reserve workforce SOIs.
- Advise AHs and SP on the most appropriate forms of part-time TACOS and recruitment processes.
- Coordinate recruitment processes, including Job Specs, Business Cases, SERVE adverts, selection panels and candidate interviews.
- Support COS IWC and the IWC Comd Group with additional taskings as required.
