Subject to formal establishment, a vacancy will arise for an OF3 to serve as SO2 DMS Reserves Readiness & Assurance at DMS Whittington (DMS(W)), Lichfield on FTRS (Home Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 01 Aug 26 (or earlier/later, subject to formal establishment and candidate status).
Unit Function: HQ DMS Gp provides the strategic medical leadership for the DMS and supports DG DMS in this role as the Functional Lead and Owner for Healthcare and Medical Operational Capability.
Position Role: The SO2 Reserve Readiness & Assurance role fills a critical gap in the DMS Reserves structure by providing a coherent, integrated DMS-level overview of Reserve readiness. This role does not duplicate single Service readiness functions but enables integration, assurance, and oversight across the DMS Reserve community to support operational capability and contingency planning.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive, integrated picture of DMS Reserve readiness across all single Services, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to senior leadership.
- Provide assurance and oversight of Reserve readiness metrics, identifying risks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement at the DMS level.
- Liaise with single Service Reserve readiness leads to facilitate information sharing, harmonisation, and integration of readiness data and processes.
- Support the development and implementation of policies and frameworks that enhance Reserve readiness assurance and reporting.
- Collaborate with CSOC, Service Commands, and civilian healthcare partners to ensure Reserve readiness aligns with operational requirements and Employer Engagement commitments.
- Contribute to contingency and operational planning by providing expert advice on Reserve readiness status and implications.
- Support the SO1 Reserves and wider HQ DMS Group in strategic workforce planning and Reserve transformation initiatives as required.
- Represent DMS Reserve readiness interests in relevant working groups, boards, and committees.
- Undertake continuous professional development to maintain expertise in Reserve readiness and assurance.
