Subject to formal establishment, Joint Boarding process and sS Policies, a vacancy will arise for an OF4 to serve as SO1 Observation and Post Exercise Reporting at Northwood, on either a PTVR, ADC, VERR or VTOD Terms and Conditions of Service (TaCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 01 Jul 26 (Subject to candidate status). 90-120 RSDs per year are available for the right candidate to conduct the role, dependent on TaCoS.

Unit Function: The Integrated Warfare Centre’s mission is to optimise and adapt the current integrated force, through concepts and warfare development, to support UK and NATO joint commanders to achieve operational advantage over adversaries, across the continuum of competition.

Position Role: This is a superb opportunity to fill a critical OF4 role as SO1 Observation and Post Exercise Reporting (SO1 Obs & PXR). You will work in a dynamic Joint HQ as Deputy to the OF5 Ex Obs and PXR Lead, and lead the Observer/Trainer team for IWC-delivered Tier 3 and 4 Collective Training Exercises. Between 80 and 120 RSDs are required for this role. The SO1 Obs & PXR co-ordinates the observation and post exercise feedback for Dir IWC’s delivery of Defence and Joint collective training events.

Responsibilities:

  • Deputy to OF5 Obs and PXR Lead in leading Observer/Trainer Team for IWC-delivered collective training.
  • Co-ordinates daily feedback for the EXDIR on the training audiences’ achievement of Exercise Objectives and Training Objectives.
  • Co-ordinates the daily observation collection plan and observer battle rhythm in line with TA and EXCON battle rhythms.
  • Support after action reviews, post exercise discussion and drafting of Exercise Reports.
  • Assists in the selection and preparation of appropriate observers.
  • Other duties as directed by OF5 Observation and PXR Lead.
