The Workforce Planning & Performance (WPP) team is specifically responsible for cohering an improved whole force Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) view of the future workforce in the 5-10+ year period, more accurately tracking SWP demand and supply factors in order to enable Defence to identify, prioritise and mitigate/respond to workforce challenges and opportunities at greater range thus assuring Defence Outputs.

Analysis and report on the whole-force workforce elements of the SPC process and undertake near term sprints into emerging workforce issues. To provide domain/service specific workforce advice, information, and knowledge to Hd WPP (1*) and throughout MSHQ FD and in addition, to/from their respective service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Strategic Workforce Planning advice and guidance to ACDS People, Defence People & Standards and wider MSHQ stakeholders as the Maritime and DNE domain lead.
  • Operate as key interlocutor with C&FP and Strat Fin on Maritime WF plans submitted through the SPC process.
  • Support reactive MSHQ FD tasking, including Sprint activity as directed.
  • Identify and assure workforce capability risk to deliver Defence outputs.
  • Collaborate with DoS and AF Reserves to take a whole-force approach to workforce planning.
  • Lead domain briefs for Joint Requirements Oversight Committee (JROC), Military Capability Boards (MCB), Defence Delivery Group (DDG) and others.
  • Line manager for military personnel temporarily attached to WPP team.
  • Deputise for AH Workforce Plans and Performance.
