The Technical Support roles present an excellent opportunity to be at the vanguard of managing a business-critical system (SERVE) used by Defence in the recruitment of reservists and lateral entry personnel.
Subject to formal establishment, Joint Boarding process and sS Policies, two vacancies will arise for a OR7 (CPO, SSgt/CSgt or FS/Chf Tech) to serve as SERVE Technical Support at MSHQ, RF&C, Main Building, London on FTRS (HC) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 1 October 2026.
Role
The Technical Support roles present an excellent opportunity to be at the vanguard of managing a business-critical system (SERVE) used by Defence in the recruitment of reservists and lateral entry personnel. With excellent communication and inter-personnel skills, you will engage with critical stakeholders throughout the Single Services (sS) and CSOC (for Joint posts) providing user support to and service delivery, continuous improvement of the SERVE platform.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintaining and supporting SERVE, ensuring data integrity, user access controls, system availability, and compliance with organisational policies.
2. Providing first and second-line support to SERVE system users, delivering guidance, troubleshooting assistance, and training to maximise effective use of recruitment tools and processes.
3. Identifying SERVE system enhancements, automating reporting processes where possible, and recommending improvements to recruitment workflows, data quality, and information management practices.
4. Ensuring information is managed in accordance with data protection and information security policies. Monitoring and maintaining data quality standards and supporting audit activities ensuring compliance with governance requirements.
5. Developing and administering RF&C organisational SharePoint sites and information repositories, ensuring information is structured, accessible, secure, and aligned to business requirements.
6. Developing, documenting, and optimising business processes through digital solutions and workflow automation to improve efficiency, governance, and service delivery.
