The Armed Forces Recruiting Service (AFRS) will see MOD, Serco and their consortium of partners providing a Tri-Service recruiting solution, which for the RN will commence on 1 Apr 27. AFRS will provide end to end support from candidate attraction to assessment to preparing to join Phase 1 training. The solution will utilise Service Personnel in high value candidate facing roles in the Command and Support Unit and in recruitment, selection, Under-Represented Groups, outreach and the national career centre.

Unit & Position Role

Deliver Armed Forces Recruitment to maximise optimal inflow of candidates to support delivery of Defence strategic and operational capabilities. The SO2 J4 will ensure logistical support to CO CSU recruiting operations.

Responsibilities

  • Enable the CO CSU to fulfil their responsibility as Head of Establishment by continued liaison with AFR resources to report infra matters.
  • Provide guidance and assurance to ensure user documentation and fleet usage is conducted in accordance with Defence policy.
  • Manage MJDI account for ACTO kit and ensure compliance with reporting requirements directly or via recruiting teams as appropriate.
  • Liaise with AFR Firm Base Support providers to ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements and sS assurance policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with HQ AFR’s HEO Fleet Manager to ensure information on fleet usage, maintenance and requirements is shared appropriately.
  • Liaise with HQ AFR’s HEO SHE to ensure health and safety compliance, establishing mechanisms to monitor and reporting up to HQ AFR and to Firm Base as required.
  • Liaise with HQ AFR Outreach and Engagement roles to inform them of above J4 matters to feed into their plans.
  • Deputise for DCOS as required and support any other J4 activities or initiatives.

Local Considerations

Role may involve irregular working hours (including rota-based weekend work with TOIL where applicable) with potential for hybrid and flexible working.

Employer Comments

The post will be located within the CSU, which will be situated Abbey Wood North. There is a degree of flexible working. Travel will be required on an ad-hoc basis in line with identified needs of individuals across the military workforce. There is only 1 role for this advert. This is a 2 year commitment in an enduring position.
