Unit Role: Army Reserve Infantry - 7 RIFLES is to provide formed companies and individuals for operations, act as a basis for regeneration and maintain strong links to the civil community. 7 RIFLES is to be capable of mounting and sustaining operations at >R8.

Position Role: 2IC G Company is responsible to the Officer Commanding G Company for the management of the Company; in particular the implementation of the Bn activity directive at Coy level in line with the OC’s direction.

Responsibilities:

  • To deputise for the Officer Commanding when required.
  • To manage the implementation of all Coy aspects of the Bn activity directive in line with the CO’s priorities.
  • To manage production and resourcing of the annual and weekly company programme, including integration of the training (including the growth of the Mor and MG sections), EE, CE, individual training and AT programmes.
  • When deployed on Exercise or Operations to effectively control current Company group activity and plan future operations in line with the OC’s intent.
  • To oversee all aspects of the administration of the company and liaise with the FTRS/NRPS and Regular (SPSI) staff as appropriate.
  • To provide management of all company welfare issues, especially focussing on mobilised personnel, liaising with BHQ as appropriate.
  • Plan and coordinate company media operations in conjunction with BHQ.
  • To oversee the production and execution of the company recruiting programme and manage through the RMTT.
  • To carry out any additional tasks that may be required to support the company mission.
