A vacancy has arisen for a Sqn Ldr (Any Profession) to serve as SO2 Risk and Performance Management at RAF Waddington on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 28 September 2026 (or earlier/later, subject to candidate status and position being vacated).
Responsible for:
- Lead the management, assurance, and continuous improvement of the ISTAR Force’s risk portfolio within PARMIS, ensuring accurate, standardised risk entries and alignment with RAF strategic objectives.
- Produce high‑quality risk and performance reports for the Quarterly Management Board (QMB), providing clear linkage between Defence objectives, Force Element outputs, and performance metrics.
- As part of the routine Command Plan staffing cycle, help develop new metrics and objectives in conjunction with HQ 1 Gp.
- Coordinate and oversee the end‑to‑end process for all ISTAR Force Honours & Awards activity, ensuring nominations are identified, prepared, staffed in a manner to reflect performance standards and submitted in accordance with JSP and APC guidance.
- Act as the focal point for Force Generation requests into the ISTAR FHQ, ensuring requirements are understood, prioritised, assessed for operational risk, correctly staffed, and aligned with Force readiness and capability demands.
- Provide specialist advice across the ISTAR Force on PARMIS policy, naming conventions, classification considerations, and risk‑control expectations to ensure a consistent, auditable approach to risk management.
- Maintain strong engagement with risk owners, platform leads, and Force Elements, facilitating timely reviews, escalations, and governance updates for Safety SCG and wider assurance forums.
- Support organisational learning by capturing, analysing, and feeding lessons identified into risk discussions and performance reporting, strengthening evidence‑based decision‑making across the ISTAR Force.
- Deputise for ISTAR COS as required.
- Cover ISTAR DCOS during periods of absence.
- Carry out any duties or tasks specified by the ISTAR Force Cdr, the ISTAR Deputy Force Cdr or ISTAR COS.
