Responsibilities include:
- Lead and instruct a section of Army Reserve Phase 1 recruits in the skills required to pass the CMS FS.
- Administer and supervise recruits at all times in their Phase 1 training.
- Assess trainees and regularly prepare written reports.
- Maintain and monitor recruits' welfare.
- Maintain good order and military discipline amongst recruits, applying the Army Leadership code at all times and adherence to the Army's Values and Standards.
- Deputise for the Platoon Sergeant if required.
- Prepare and conduct lessons in accordance with the training programme and ensure that key learning points are completed.
- Command a section of up to 12 recruits in barracks and on exercises/ranges.
