A vacancy has arisen for a Sergeant (Cyberspace - ICT Tech) to serve as ISTAR FHQ Force Support A6 SNCO at RAF Waddington on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 03 August 2026 (or earlier/later, subject to candidate status).

The ISTAR FHQ Force Support SNCO provides specialist A6, Mission System Support, cyber and information management expertise to ensure ISTAR Force Elements are fully enabled and assured for operational output. The post holder coordinates Force-level digital and mission system activity, supports technical decision-making, and ensures coherence across deployed CIS, mission system requirements, crypto modernisation and information management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver A6 advice and support to ISTAR Force Elements to enable effective execution of operational and training missions.
  • Provide operational and technical Mission System Support direction and guidance for ISTAR in-service capabilities and assist in the development and integration of future enhancements.
  • Develop, support and contribute to Information Exchange Requirements (IERs) using a detailed understanding of deployed CIS and mission system capabilities.
  • Act as the direct interface with ISTAR FHQ Pods, capturing, refining and articulating user requirements for emerging mission system and digital capabilities.
  • Support operational deployment planning, ensuring ISTAR missions receive timely, appropriate and assured A6 and mission system solutions.
  • Coordinate and maintain the ISTAR Information Management Plan (IMP) across all ISTAR Force Elements, ensuring coherent, compliant and auditable management of information.
  • Lead delivery of the ISTAR Force Crypto Modernisation Programme, including the identification, communication and mitigation of project risks.
  • Represent ISTAR FHQ A6 at external meetings and Project Engagement Events, ensuring Force requirements, risks and priorities are understood by delivery partners.
