A vacancy has arisen for a sqn ldr (Any Profession) to serve as SO2 Information Services and Exploitation (ISX) at HQ Air & Space Warfare Centre (ASWC), RAF Waddington on Full Time Reserve Service (Home Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 05 October 2026 (or earlier/later, subject to candidate status).
Principal duties include:
- Providing leadership and management of a team of 10 staff (Service and Civil Service) supporting the Information Services/Systems within HQ ASWC, which includes change management and identification of new requirements.
- Seeking opportunities to improve operational and business output, developing Information and Knowledge Management and exploitation throughout the organisation.
- Leading future Information Services/System requirement capture, planning and delivery.
- Leading business change activities brought about by the delivery of new Information Services/Systems, information exploitation opportunities and externally-delivered major programmes.
- Supervising the delivery of co-ordinated and assured Information Services/Systems to the ASWC to enable its operational and business output; providing guidance and advice to Commandant ASWC, his OF5 Divisional heads and all ASWC sub-units.
- Developing the ASWC’s Information Management (IM), Information Assurance (IA) and Data Protection strategies, policies and processes iaw relevant European, UK Government, MOD and Air Command legislation and policy.
HQ ASWC has embraced flexible and hybrid ways of working. While many aspects of the role of SO2 ISX require regular attendance in HQ ASWC, the role offers a high level of flexibility and autonomy, making it well suited to a hybrid working model that blends office-based and home-working.
