A vacancy has arisen for a Sergeant (A Tech(M)/A Tech(AV)) to serve as Assistant Duty Engineering Operations controller at RAF Coningsby on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 14 September 2026 (or earlier/later, subject to candidate status).
Shift worker as a member of a 7 person team on a rotation providing 24/7 support to Typhoon operations.
Terms of Reference are available upon request.
- Acting as central focal point to coordinate engineering support to the Typhoon Force & BBMF including more than one engineering element of the Station.
- Providing 24 hour engineering support to Typhoon Force.
- Acting as the contact for all agencies to ensure that engineering tasks are effectively implemented.
- Acting as the Engineering Point of Contact in responding to all emergency arisings and coordinating engineering resource utilisation.
- Ensuring that the submission and progression of priority aircraft spares demands is coordinated between customers and suppliers.
- Having a working knowledge of Greenlink and other IT systems to enable the prompt monitoring and updating of totes.
- Having a working knowledge of the Typhoon ESS to search for aircraft information, cannibalising of assets and ensure aircraft and asset availability.
- Briefing Station Engineering Executives & outside agencies daily on the Typhoon Force and BBMF aircraft serviceability status to attain engineering solutions.
- Maintaining and reviewing all engineering documentation and SOPs that are used and held within the Engineering Operations environment.
