The Armed Forces Recruiting Service (AFRS) will see MOD, Serco and their consortium of partners providing a Tri-Service recruiting solution, which for the RN will commence on 1 Apr 27. AFRS will provide end to end support from candidate attraction to assessment to preparing to join Phase 1 training. The solution will utilise Service Personnel in high value candidate facing roles in the Command and Support Unit and in recruitment, selection, Under-Represented Groups, outreach and the national career centre.
Unit & Position Role
Deliver Armed Forces Recruitment to maximise optimal inflow of workforce to support delivery of Defence strategic and operational capabilities. Assessment of candidates’ suitability for officer training and execution of assessment events and exercises at Assessment Centre.
Responsibilities
- Conduct briefing sessions, assessment selection exercises and interviews of candidates.
- Make recommendations regarding the candidate’s suitability for a career in the Services and chosen role.
- Assist in the creation of all recruitment collateral and content both digital and physical material.
- As directed assist regular reviews of assessment practice, support external assurance and drive continuous improvement while tracking developments.
- Ensure policies, guidance and processes for Officer Assessment are coherent and updated.
- Line Management and Reporting Officer responsibilities as directed.
