Prepare and generate a Reserve workforce (WF) at readiness. Responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of Battalion operational matters including both operational deployments and routine activity in support of 16X and wider Defence outputs.
Responsibilities
- Support to Operations: At times of mobilisation and deployment enable and resource the Commanding Officer (CO) and Executive Officers (XO) intent in support of operational outputs ensuring the Battalion is prepared to meet the demands of high‑readiness tasks.
- Operational Development: Work in conjunction with 16X G3/5 elements to ensure the development and refinement of Warfighting Development (WARDEV) capabilities ensuring the Battalion remains aligned with 16X operational requirements and maintains its airborne role.
- Forecast of Events (FoE) Management: Act as the Battalion manager for all Forecast of Events (FoE) scheduling (G5) ensuring operational outputs are met while balancing unit enabling activities and the lived experience of personnel.
- Force Sensing (FSen): Manage the Force Sensing (FSen) process to ensure the unit can meet its commitments during periods of reduced workforce maintaining operational readiness and resilience.
- Force Generation (FGen): Support the Force Generation (FGen) of all Force Elements (FEs) from the unit by liaising with G3 and G7 to ensure Force Preparation (FPrep) is conducted in line with operational requirements including readiness for airborne and air assault operations.
- Asset Coordination: Coordinate assets in conjunction with G2, G4 and G6 elements to provide effective G3/5 analysis ensuring the Battalion's operational capability is optimised and aligned with 16X objectives.
- Secondary Duties: Undertake additional duties as directed by the XO and CO contributing to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the Battalion.
