A vacancy has arisen for a Sqn Ldr ANY Profession to serve as Executive Officer at HQ Intelligence Reserves Wing, RAF Waddington on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 12 May 2027.
Intelligence Reserves Wing HQ is responsible for the recruitment, marketing, training, employment, retention and HR for approximately 400 PTVR Intelligence personnel who serve on the 3 Intelligence Sqns and the 7 Airbase Operational Support (AOSS) Sqns that have established Intelligence flights. The primary role of the Executive Officer is to lead the HQ staff and provide management support and specialist advice to OC Intelligence Reserves Wing. The successful applicant will ensure the Wing is safe, compliant and fit for purpose. They will be expected to attend Working Weekends at RAF Wyton each month with Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) during the week.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Management of the Wing HQ, oversight of its CONEMP and the broader Intelligence Reserves establishment.
- Lead for Quality, Assurance, Governance, Compliance, Risk, Business Continuity and Communications.
- Co-ordination of Reserve Intelligence ITT, SOTR and SOTT.
- Act as focal point for the RAuxAF Inspectorate, HQ Reserves function, Central Reserve Support Wing (CRSW), GSS Sqns Execs, R&S Reserves Recruiting Team, Workforce Planning (Reserves), Intelligence Profession Governance Office (IPGO) and CTS Assurance Wing.
- Oversight of KPIs for mandatory training.
- Represent the Wing at East Midlands Reserve Forces and Cadets (EM RFCA) and Regional Employer Engagement Group (REEG) management meetings.
- Liaison with the East Midlands Air Regional Engagement Employment Officer (AREEO).
- Engage, influence, manage, and build effective relationships with both internal and external key stakeholders at all levels.
- Oversight and support to Intelligence Reserves Specialist Interview process.
- Oversight of Wing trainees on Holding Flight and in Phase 1 training, liaising with CRSW as required.
- Liaison with Air Intelligence Wing, Military Intelligence College regarding personnel on Phase 2 training programmes.
- Oversee the Wing establishment and act as lead for all HQ Engagement activity.
- Deputising for Wing OC at Station Executive and Command Group meetings, and any other meetings as required.
- Attend the COS/XO Station Working Groups.
- Maintain the Wing SharePoint and MS Teams sites.
- Line Management of 2 x OF2 (Regular) and 1 x OR9 (FTRS ADC) Wing WO.
