The Training Management Group is a joint RN-industry organisation, providing the basis of a Whole Force approach to RN individual training delivery. The TMG is accountable for the effective and efficient governance, control and commercial delivery of the Selborne contract.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary POC for arranging ME (GS and SM) Apprentice Assessments (AA) between the MIAA and Units.
  • Liaise with and support Training Coordinators and Onboard Assessors in the delivery of all ME AAs; quality assure and approve all ME AA outcomes.
  • Grade and approve all Marine Engineering AAs in line with assessment plans and internal quality assurance expectations.
  • Support the development of ME AAs, including question writing, pilot assessments, and procedure development.
  • Support Team Fisher Programme Facilitators during Apprenticeship Engagement visits to units.
  • Conduct physical IQA observations on 5–10% of all ME AAs across various locations to ensure assessment validity, fairness, and compliance.
  • Implement and uphold MIAA policies and support development and maintenance of MIAA/AA funding models.
  • Act as the MIAA sponsor of Units identifying opportunities to enhance MIAA processes to benefit Training Coordinators and apprentices.

Local Considerations

  • Away from home at least once per month for Training Establishment visits/AA assurance.
