43 Cdo Fleet Protection Group Royal Marines (43 Cdo FPG RM) Mission is to deliver Nuclear Security operations and contingencies, and engage with agencies, allies and partners in order to support Op RELENTLESS and UKCF outputs. The unit is tasked with the delivery of Defence directed non-discretionary continuous no-fail nuclear security, deliver support to expeditionary Nuclear Security Special Operations as directed by Defence and provide assurance to our allies.
Unit activity spans the force generation and deployment of specialist military nuclear security operators at both the Faslane and RNAD Coulport sites; training activity takes place across the UK as well as overseas. The MT position will offer critical logistical support to the unit, tasks include driving, maintaining a duty driver rota, Lv 1 servicing, vehicle instruction and associated driving/management tasks.
Terms of reference:
- The rank must form part of a 365-day rota.
- This short notice to effect standing task, offers critical driving support for nuclear security operations.
- Be prepared to conduct regular driving duties, including transporting personnel, airport pickup/drop offs and transporting equipment.
- Be prepared to deploy on exercise as driving support, this may be in the UK or overseas.
- The rank must obtain a Cat D licence through the selected training pipeline. Cat D will be required to transport personnel.
- The rank will need to obtain instructor qualifications (Defence Trainer Course), a Motor Transport Supervisor qualification and a Snatch 2B instructor course to run vehicle training.
- Be prepared to deploy on Defence wide Operational support tasks.
- Be prepared to attend full ADR course.
- Be prepared to manage White/Green Fleet vehicles and use Clarity booking system to book/manage hire car usage.
