The Armed Forces Recruiting Service (AFRS) will see MOD, Serco and their consortium of partners providing a Tri-Service recruiting solution, which for the RN will commence on 1 Apr 27. AFRS will provide end to end support from candidate attraction to assessment to preparing to join Phase 1 training. The solution will utilise Service Personnel in high value candidate facing roles in the Command and Support Unit and in recruitment, selection, Under-Represented Groups, outreach and the national career centre.
Unit and Position Role
The HQ AFR will deliver integrated tri-service recruitment for the Armed Forces to build and maintain force levels able to meet Defence outputs.
Position Role
To provide information, guidance, and advice on all aspects of military life, roles, and career opportunities to potential candidates.
Responsibilities
- Act as Team member in assigned Outreach Team.
- Provide information and careers guidance to candidates/gatekeepers; sharing personal experience of life in the AF to engage and inform candidates.
- Conduct education liaison and outreach activities with schools, colleges and community groups to raise awareness and attract potential candidates.
- Support Outreach activities; including Mobile Recruitment Teams, URG etc.
- Act as military lead in support of large-scale recruitment events.
- Deliver candidate briefings including Apprenticeships, professions and recruitment process guidance, supporting Careers Centres CAs.
- Maintain digital records related to Outreach (including contact information of Outreach Influencers), enabling digital tracking and analysis.
- Ensure that accurate and relevant records are created and maintained for all OR candidates, using AFRS system.
- Assist in administrative support within Careers Centre including auditing of outreach equipment and maintenance of the Asset Register as directed.
Local Considerations
Domestic - role may involve irregular working hours (inc rota-based weekend work with TOIL where applicable) with potential for hybrid and flexible working.
