There is an upcoming vacancy for a Wing Commander Aircrew Profession to serve as SO1 Aircrew Systems (AS) in Air Capability at RAF High Wycombe on FTRS(LC) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with a proposed start date of 6 Jan 27.
SO1 AS is responsible for the development and delivery of new and upgraded aircrew system capabilities, across the FLCs, for Asst Head (AH) Future Flying Training (FFT) as SRO and COS Cap as Sponsor. Responsibilities include:
- Programme Director for the Aircrew Systems Capability Upgrade Programme (ASCUP) responsible for developing and delivering AS upgrade projects.
- Chair of the AS Project Delivery and Capability Integration Working Groups.
- Secretary of the AS Capability Planning Group (CPG) responsible for producing a coherent and funded pan-FLC Capability Management Plan (CMP).
- Air Capability SME responsible for operating, operational and safety advice on AS to all key Defence stakeholders.
- Coherence of the Dstl Aircrew Systems Research (ASR) programme on behalf of the Sponsor (AH FFT).
- Senior AS Requirements Manager.
- Line management and professional development of three squadron leader and one flight sergeant requirements managers.
- Deputising for AH FFT as required.
