A vacancy may arise for a Flight Sergeant to serve as FS DISCIP at RAF Lossiemouth on Full Time Reserve Service (Home Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 05 January 2027.
The FS Discip role will assist the SWO in the delivery of his/her duties across the RAF Lossiemouth. It is imperative that the incumbent adheres meticulously to AP1, AP 1358 and KR 503 Appendix 27. They are to display moral courage when dealing with Service Personnel who have failed to meet the standards displayed within the aforementioned policies.
Post holder's tasks/responsibilities:
General.
- Responsible to the SWO for the maintenance of discipline, standards across the Stn/Unit and in any outlying Units under the command of the Station Commander.
- Represent the SWO in their absence as directed by the SWO.
- Represent the OC GD Flt in their absence as directed, as appropriate.
- Provide Administrative, training and ceremonial support for delivery of all ceremonial events and repatriations.
- Complete the duties of building custodian and inventory holder as directed by the OC GD Flt.
- Where applicable, assist OC GD Flt and the SWO in the daily management of GD Flt civilian staff.
- Perform additional duties as directed by the SWO and OC GD Flt.
- In absence of the SWO, co-ordinate workforce trawls in response to non-established commitments (CDT and Station Working Parties).
- The monitoring and application of discipline across the Stn.
Stn Cdr’s Inspection Schedule.
- Where applicable, fulfil the duties of the SWO in his/her absence and be prepared to accompany the Stn Cdr or suitable representative on the detailed inspection.
Drill and Ceremonial requirements.
- Conduct (or nominate) the role of Parade WO/Marshal in the absence of the SWO.
- In the absence of the SWO you are to ensure that suitable Parade Orders are created and sent to Air Ceremonial a minimum of 5 weeks prior to any Parade taking place.
- In the absence of the SWO compile an appropriate Administrative Order at least 2 weeks in advance of any such parade and obtain all items of ceremonial kit through LSS and whist on loan ensure they are held on inventory.
- In the absence of the SWO organise and execute the Stn Honours and Awards Presentations in accordance with the annual programme.
- Fulfil the responsibilities of the SWO WRT the delivery of H&A’s in their absence.
Discipline.
- You are to ensure that all personnel maintain the appropriate standards of discipline detailed within Service policy.
Stn Arrivals Brief. Support the SWO in co-ordinating arrangements for the presentation of the monthly Stn Arrivals Brief. Tasks include:
- Setting up of the PowerPoint/DVD programmes for all the contributors.
- Publicising the event at the Stn Briefing Room.
- Ensuring all eligible personnel, both Service and civilian, attend the briefing.
Additional responsibilities/Other tasks:
- You are responsible for any other tasks as directed by the SWO, Stn Adj, Stn COS, OC BSW or Stn Cdr.
