Domestic Considerations, RSDs: The post offers a high attendance level and hybrid working days when appropriate, with the opportunity to work upwards of 88 days per year. Working pattern can involve weekdays and weekends during modular and consolidated courses. Army Reserve post, based in Edinburgh with some travel and some overnight duty required.
Position Role: ATU (Sc) - Company Sergeant Major
Responsibilities:
- Perform the duties associated with the role of a CSM of an ARes Basic training establishment. Responsible for matters regarding discipline and training of all staff and recruits within the Trg Coy.
- Be fully conversant with all ASpects and LSpecs of the Army Reserve Basic Training Future Soldier.
- Assist the RSM on implementing the Army Leadership Code and support him in performance management as Unit ATM.
- Assist OC Trg Coy with monitoring the conduct of the training and ensuring that all AITC, Sldr Ac, and ATU training objectives and directives are complied with.
- Obtain requisite qualifications required to deliver core Instructor function and instruct as required
- Supervise Pl Sgts in the conduct of consolidated and modular courses activity and oversee the G4 link between the CQMS and Pl Sgts.
- Support the Coy 2IC on the maintenance of administration, Safety and Security. This would include nominal rolls of all personnel in training, Daily Feeding Requirements and Ammunition allocation for example.
- Provide a supervisory role for the issue, accounting and receipt off all weapons and ammunition.
- Ensure that all Trg Coy staff understand Army values and standards; and conduct themselves within the AITC ethos.
- Any additional tasks as directed by the CoC.
- Provide Duty Officer cover over specified periods.
