Responsibilities:

  • To provide Safety, Health, Environmental & Fire (SHEF), (including DSEAR) advice, guidance and support to the CoC within their Appointed Units of Responsibility.
  • To conduct assurance of Unit Safety Management Plans, Unit Fire Safety Management Plans and Unit Environmental Management Systems for Army Sites (EMSAS) when requested or directed by Army Safety Group Safety Centre (ASG-SCen).
  • To monitor MYSAFETY occurrence reporting and provide advice to units undertaking L1 investigations.
  • To support Unit Force Protection Investigators (FPIs) in their conducting investigations of incidents, and to conduct SHEF investigations when so directed by ASG-SCen.
  • To deliver SHEF training in support of their units of responsibility and when directed by ASG-SCen. Training includes, but not limited to, Risk Assessment, SRM, COSHH, FPI, MH, FPSM.
  • To provide additional support to the Army Safety Matrix (including SO1 SHE/FP/JMCs SO2 SHEF) as requested or directed by ASG-SCen.
  • To assist the Unit Chain of Command in preparing for ASEMSA.
  • Provide Assurance on activities when requested or directed by ASG-SCen.
  • Any other tasks directed by ASG-SCen.
