This is a reservist role: We are looking for individuals who would like to remain with their own unit but have the capacity to support recruit training as a section commander on an ad hoc basis. We will add your email to a database and contact you with job opportunities as they arise. As part of Soldier Academy we run 4 Battle camps (16 Days) and 5 Foundation courses (9 Days) over 12 months, training approximately 500 reservists each year in our phase one establishments. Due to this demanding training programme we require visiting instructors to support our own staff in front line delivery.

Position Role: Section Commander ATU (West).

Responsibilities:

  • Perform the duties of a Section Commander delivering army reserve basic training CMS 21.
  • Key responsibility is to deliver SAA to their allocated section within the Basic Training Platoon to WHT standard.
  • Fully conversant and compliant with all aspects of Basic training, either leading or supporting its delivery.
  • Assist the Platoon Commander with compiling Recruits report books and the Platoon Sergeant with administration.
  • Lead Recruits and inspire individual achievement as per the ARITC code of practice for instructors.
  • Undertake any additional tasks as required by the CoC.
  • Maintain regular engagement with own cap badge ensuring the individual remains SQEP within CEQ.
  • Any other tasks as directed by the CoC.
