Responsibilities:

  • Perform the duties of a Pl Sgt delivering Army reserve basic training in the delivery of training of up to 48 Recruits.
  • Deputise for the Platoon Comd when required and be prepared to cover any of the Section Commanders responsibilities.
  • Manage Pl administration in barracks and in the field.
  • Responsible for all matters regarding discipline and training of Pl staff and recruits.
  • Fully current with all aspects of basic training delivery as directed by the CoC.
  • Principal instructor in the delivery of all foot drill.
  • Act as a role model and mentor to Sect Comd, ensuring they deliver training to a high standard.
  • Be responsible for the issue, accounting and receipt of all Pl weapons, ammunitions, stores, equipment and rations.
  • Responsible for upholding Core Values and Standards in Pl staff and recruits.
