A vacancy has arisen for a Warrant Officer (Gnr) within the Ground Combat & Security Profession to serve as the Squadron Warrant Officer on 2623 Squadron, RAuxAF at RAF Honington on Part Time Volunteer Reserve (PTVR) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 02 November 2026 (or earlier depending on successful candidate’s circumstances).
In accordance with AP3392 Vol 7 Part 2 Chap 6, the post is also open for applicants to apply on alternative TCoS, including VeRR (90 days). Applicants are requested to make their TCoS preference clear in their application covering letter, for review during the selection process. Applicants for alternative TCoS should state how the role could be delivered on their preferred TCoS, for consideration by the selection board.
This post is responsible to OC 2623 Squadron for the discipline and personal standards on the Squadron, as well as other key outputs listed below.
Specific responsibilities of the Sqn WO include:
- Ensure Sqn standards and discipline are maintained at all times.
- Act as the Sqn Welfare Officer and lead on all welfare activity.
- When assigned by Sqn Cdr, undertake duties relating to the management of information flows to applicable stakeholders, for example, Intranet systems, internal and external comms channels and related processes and procedures.
- Support Sqn Exec in the maintenance of the Sqn establishment.
- Lead on the CLM professional development of all Sqn personnel.
