Unit Role: Sub-unit of the Maritime Intelligence Analysis Group, delivering and cohering intelligence support to Royal Navy Air assets.

Position Role: Officer Commanding the Maritime Air Intelligence Centre (MAIC)

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to CO Maritime Intelligence Analysis Group (MIAG) for the establishment of the Maritime Air Intelligence Centre (MAIC), as a sub-unit of the MIAG based at RNAS YEOVILTON.
  • Coordinate the delivery of a Service Level Agreements (SLA) between CO MIAG and RNAS YEOVILTON.
  • Lead the Naval Intelligence Enterprise (NIE)’s input into Project DIKTAEAN, the establishment of a STRAP Cleared Environment (SCE) at RNAS YEOVILTON.
  • Set the conditions for the transfer of liability for the Intelligence staff at YEOVILTON from the appropriate 2* directorates to COMOPS, under the MIAG.
  • Set the conditions for the subordination of the CULDROSE Station Intelligence Facility (CSIF) under the MAIC when fully established.

Performance Attributes:

  • Delivering Results: High capacity and proven track record of success under pressure. Able to prioritise work and be self-reliant.
  • Breadth of Perspective: Must be able to consider the implications of staff recommendations / decisions whilst appreciating the broader context of operating with multiple 2* directorates.
  • Communication and Influence: Required to staff and brief work at a senior level across RN, MOD and PAG regularly. Required to manage the creation of a sub-unit that involves liability from multiple RN and Army 2* directorates.
  • Awareness and Understanding: Must have good working knowledge of MOD/RN and Operational staff processes.
