The Chief of Staff ensures capability coherence across the 1* Support Capability branch and manages the 1* Support Capability Planning Board (CPB).

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver coherent routine Support Capability outputs across Mil Commands, NAD Group and MSHQ.
  • Cohere branch deliverables at CPB level, engaging 2* areas to meet demanding staffing timelines.
  • Act as conduit into the 3* Defence Support organisation, liaising directly with 2* areas.
  • Lead internal branch management including MS, budget, training, external communications, discipline and performance.
  • Manage and act as Secretary for the 1* CPB, deconflicting joint Support C2 development activity.
  • Provide 2*/3* briefs to support high-level meetings with the HoC.
  • Conduct significant stakeholder engagement across Commands and organisations.
