| Main Responsibilities of the Ops Maj post: 1. Deputise for, and act on behalf of the CO daily. Is the initial point of contact for all Regimental matters in the absence of CO. 2. Responsible to the CO for the delivery of training at a Regimental level. 3. Responsible for the establishment and management of the regimental level ops room in response to an incident or alteration of alert status. 4. Principal staff officer and advisor to the CO on all G3 and G6 operational and exercise matters. 5. In consultation with the CO; determines and disseminates the regimental training directive. 6. Responsible for briefing the CO in order to direct Ops and Plans officers in their employment. 7. 1RO for Ops Team and Regular SPSIs. 8. In conjunction with 2IC, management and control of the Regt RSD allocation and budgets and supervision of their usage across the regiment through accurate FOE planning and forecasting 3 years in advance. |
