The Armed Forces Recruiting Service (AFRS) will see MOD, Serco and their consortium of partners providing a Tri-Service recruiting solution, which for the RN will commence on 1 Apr 27. AFRS will provide end to end support from candidate attraction to assessment to preparing to join Phase 1 training. The solution will utilise Service Personnel in high value candidate facing roles in the Command and Support Unit and in recruitment, selection, Under-Represented Groups, outreach and the national career centre.
This is a 2 year commitment in an enduring position.
Unit & Position RoleThe HQ AFR will deliver integrated tri-service recruitment for the Armed Forces to build and maintain force levels able to meet Defence outputs.
Position RoleTo provide information, guidance, and advice on all aspects of military life, roles, and career opportunities to potential candidates.
Responsibilities- Act as Senior tri-Service Career Advisor (CA) and Lead Officer CA.
- Perform Line Manager responsibilities.
- Act as the main point of contact for all candidates within the contact phase from initial enquiry through to successful completion of application.
- Conduct 1 to 1 appointments virtually or in person to support and nurture candidates on their recruitment pathway.
- Facilitate supervised DAA.
- Support the Career Centre manager in directly advising candidates on key referrals, including unsuccessful candidates at various steps.
- Ensure process efficiency; continually monitoring the ongoing quality and governance functions to support the development and improvement of processes.
- Ensure accurate and relevant records are created and maintained on AFRS system for all In-Service Transfers and Re-joiners.
- Assist in administrative support activities within the Recruiting Sourcing Re-Joiners team as directed by AFR policy.
- Support Outreach Team events, including provision of careers advice sharing personal experience of life in the AF to engage and inform candidates.
Role may involve irregular working hours (including rota-based weekend work with TOIL where applicable) with potential for hybrid and flexible working.
