A vacancy has arisen for a Wing Commander, Cyberspace profession to serve as Battlespace Management Engineering Role Office Principal Engineer at HQ AIR RAF High Wycombe on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 08 April 2027. The role supports the high-level requirement to plan and deliver air and space effects, synchronized and integrated with cyber and information activities, in support of Defence outputs.
The BM Principal Engineer is responsible to DACOS AO & BM and Air C2 Force Cdr for the sustainment and governance of engineering across the pan-defence BM AOR. Through governance, sustainment, integration and assurance activity, the position is responsible for:
- The engineering aspects in the delivery, sustainment and development of engineering capabilities for the BM AOR
- Providing specialist ATM and ASACS Engineering support to MOD, PJHQ, DE&S, AIR Cmd and Unit Cdrs IAW the RAF Air Safety Management Plan (SMP) and subordinate Group SMPs, participating in safety governance meetings to highlight key safety issues
- Ensuring (through 2nd Party Audit activity) engineering assurance and standards are maintained across the ATM and ASACS AOR
- Manager for the BM equipment support 1* CASP annexes
- Delegated Desk lead TRA for all BM related Ph3 Engineering
The role requires regular travel to various UK sites and occasional travel to overseas locations.
