A vacancy will arise for a Corporal (Any Profession) to serve as Area Reserves Recruiting Team JNCO 3 at RAFC Cranwell on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 11 December 2026 or later subject to candidate status

RAF R&S’ Mission is to attract and select for training the diversity, quantity and quality of people necessary to sustain RAF operational capability. Area Reserves Recruiting Team JNCO 3 will work within HQ R&S to support Reserve Support Wings (RSWs) Royal Auxiliary Air Force (RAuxAF) Sqns to select and recruit Part-Time Volunteer Reservists (PTVRs).

As part of the transition to the Armed Forces Recruitment Service on 01 Apr 27, this role may see changes to responsibilities and C2 in line with Reserve Policy. For further information please contact: CRN-RecruitSelect-AFRS-Team@mod.gov.uk, upon successful completion of the RAF Recruiting Course at RAF Cranwell (unless already completed), the position will be responsible through SNCO Reserves Recruiting Team Coord for:

  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Reserve Recruitment, liaising with Reserve Support Wings (RSWs) and Squadrons to ensure a consistent and effective approach to recruitment delivery.
  • Provide guidance and support to RSWs and Squadrons as required, ensuring recruitment processes are delivered in accordance with policy and best practice.
  • Conduct Independent Case Checks (ICCs) prior to Attestation Events, ensuring all candidate documentation and pre-attestation checks are completed accurately, efficiently, and within mandated timescales.
  • Administer the processing of all Education and Defence Aptitude Assessment (DAA) Waiver applications, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including but not limited to the RAF Personnel Management Centre (RPMC), Recruiting Force Staff, OASC Control, and Select Processing teams.
  • Represent the Reserve Recruitment function at conferences, meetings, workshops, and training events as required.
  • Undertake additional tasks and support activities as directed by the SO2 Reserves & Rejoiners to meet operational and organisational requirements.
