Subject to formal establishment change, a position may become available for a Sqn Ldr Any Profession to serve as 1 Gp SO2 Reserves at RAF High Wycombe on Part Time Volunteer Reserve (PTVR) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 01 October 2026.
Responsibilities include:
- Acting as a 1 Gp HQ Reserve representative as directed by AOC 1 Gp, working to HQ 1 Gp Reserve SO1.
- Providing representation at 1 Gp and RAuxAF meetings, events and conferences on behalf of HQ 1 Gp Reserve Gp Capt and HQ 1 Gp Reserve SO1.
- Providing a staff function to HQ 1 Gp Reserve Gp Capt and HQ 1 Gp Reserve SO1, including the production and refinement of key OSW to support the configuration, integration and utilisation of reserves to support both the 1 Gp mission and the wider AIR mission.
- Supporting the harvesting of regular SQEP upon exiting the RAF to enable RAF Reserves support to the front line and growth.
- Championing the RAF reserves, providing representation at appropriate events, and being a point of contact for regulars leaving the RAF to enable resilience and mass in support of the regular RAF, particularly the 1 Gp mission.
- Liaising and being a POC to ISTAR, CA and AM Joint Venture SO2s to enable the configuration, integration, and utilisation of PTVR capability in support of the 1 Gp mission.
- Providing higher HQ direction, guidance and support to the RAF reserve representatives within each 1 Gp pillar.
- Undertaking work on both existing and new projects as directed by HQ 1 Gp Reserves Gp Capt and 1 Gp Reserve SO1 to enable whole force reserves capability development.
- Providing HQ 1 Gp Reserves support, knowledge and experience to support wider RAuxAF and RAF projects aimed to develop and improve reserve integration and utilisation.
- Providing a liaison function with 2 Gp reserve CoC to cohere and co-ordinate reserve configuration, integration and utility across both 1 and 2 Gp.
