I’m working with a highly respected, fast-growing engineering business that operates at the sharp end of the global offshore energy market. They support major energy operators across offshore structures, drilling, subsea, decommissioning, renewables and carbon capture and they’re now looking to strengthen their project delivery team with a high-calibre QHSE Engineer. This is not a box-ticking HSE role. It’s a hands-on, project-embedded position where you’ll play a critical role in ensuring major capital projects are delivered safely, compliantly and to the highest quality standards. If you enjoy being close to engineering, suppliers and project teams, this will give you real ownership, influence and variety.
What you’ll be doing:
- You’ll be a key part of the project delivery engine, working alongside engineering, procurement and project management teams to ensure quality and safety are built in from bid stage right through to final equipment release.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing QHSE leadership and technical support across live offshore and subsea projects.
- Owning and improving project quality processes within a certified QMS.
- Developing and executing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for projects and tenders.
- Carrying out supplier and internal audits in line with ISO9001.
- Managing non-conformances, corrective actions and continuous improvement activity.
- Conducting inspections, witness testing and supplier liaison.
- Supporting equipment release, expediting and fabrication delivery.
- Participating in design, bid and project reviews.
- Producing quality reports, inspection records and compliance documentation.
- Helping ensure projects meet ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 requirements.
In short, you’ll be the person who ensures what’s designed, built and delivered is right first time.
What I’m looking for:
I’m keen to speak with QHSE professionals who want to be embedded in serious engineering projects, not sat on the sidelines. You’ll ideally bring:
- 5+ years’ experience in project-based QHSE roles, ideally within major CapEx engineering environments.
- Exposure to offshore, subsea, drilling or complex fabrication environments.
- A recognised QHSE qualification (NEBOSH, IRCA, Lead Auditor or similar).
- Experience working within ISO9001 / ISO14001 / ISO45001 frameworks.
- The confidence to work with project managers, engineers and suppliers.
- Strong attention to detail, organisation and reporting skills.
- A collaborative, practical mindset – you’re comfortable on site, in meetings and in the detail.
This role is office-based in Great Yarmouth, with project and supplier interaction as required. You must have the right to work in the UK.
