We are looking for a reliable and motivated Despatch Operative to join our busy operations team. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who takes pride in attention to detail and enjoys working in a practical, team-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construct and build boxes and packing cases for export, following project specifications provided by the Logistics Coordinator.
- Apply international shipping symbols to export cases using indelible paint to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Accurately weigh all items prior to packing, recording details in the Weight Register.
- Weigh packed items, record weights and dimensions on the relevant works orders, and pass details to the Despatch office for further action.
- Calculate estimated weights and dimensions from drawings to support quotations.
- Ensure all goods packed for export meet customer specifications or internal packing standards as detailed on SharePoint.
- Operate hand-held air tools and electric saws safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area, particularly at the end of each shift.
- Carry out any additional duties as requested by the Logistics Coordinator or Operations Manager to support smooth operations.
