Serve Talent is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business in Fakenham, seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join their workshop team. This is a hands-on position focused on the assembly, fitting, and maintenance of a range of mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, fit, and test mechanical components and machinery
  • Interpret engineering drawings and technical diagrams
  • Work with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Carry out maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs
  • Ensure all work meets required quality and safety standards
  • Support machinery builds and assist with occasional installation work

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in mechanical fitting or machinery assembly
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical systems (e.g. bearings, moving parts)
  • Basic electrical or hydraulic knowledge is advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or similar) desirable
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Salary & Benefits:

  • Up to £33,500 per annum
  • Overtime and bonus opportunities
  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (8:00am - 5:00pm), with overtime available
