Serve First is a fast-moving, well-funded startup turning customer feedback into live dashboards and AI-driven alerts. 2025 roadmap: overhaul user journeys, add a design system, and launch new AI-powered workflows. You’ll own the end-to-end product experience and iterate fast—low bureaucracy, maximum autonomy.

What You’ll Do

  • Shape end-to-end UX. Map and optimize critical B2B workflows (survey creation, analytics, alerting). Product journey maps, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
  • Own the design system. Define UI patterns, components, and accessibility rules in Figma; partner with engineering for pixel‑perfect implementation.
  • Drive user research. Plan and run interviews, usability tests, and feedback sessions with enterprise customers; translate insights into actionable design changes.
  • Iterate relentlessly. Ship small, test, and improve. Use data (Heap, GA, in-app analytics) and qualitative feedback to refine flows.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally. Work side‑by‑side with Product, Backend, and Frontend teams; clarify requirements, hand off specs, review builds.
  • Leverage AI wisely. Use AI design/copy tools to accelerate work, but validate everything—you own the outcome.
  • Document everything. Keep flows, components, and rationale well documented for the distributed team.

Must Haves

  • 5+ years designing complex B2B SaaS products (dashboards, workflows, admin interfaces).
  • Portfolio that shows user‑centred process from research prototypes to shipped UI.
  • Strong UX research chops: interviews, surveys, usability tests, heuristic reviews.
  • Mastery of Figma (or Sketch/Adobe XD/etc.) and prototyping tools.
  • Comfortable working with design systems and handing off to React engineers.
  • Solid grasp of accessibility (WCAG) and responsive design principles.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication—async first.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with customer‑feedback/survey or analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity with React component libraries (Storybook, Chakra, MUI, etc.).
  • Motion/interaction design skills (Lottie, Framer Motion).
  • Basic HTML/CSS to tinker directly in code.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary
  • Hybrid in Milton Keynes, at least 2 days a week
  • Standard UK pension, 20 days holiday + public holidays.
  • Generous kit & software budget.
  • Small team = direct impact on the product experience.
