We’re not your typical financial institution. We’re a member-owned, values-driven credit union making a real difference in our community. Our mission? To provide fair, affordable financial services to those who Serve & Protect – and to prove that people really do come before profit. If you’re looking for a role where what you do actually matters, this is it.
As our Business Development Officer, you’ll be the friendly face (and sharp mind) behind our growth. You’ll help us reach new members, build partnerships, and spread the good word about what we do. Think of yourself as part relationship-builder, part community champion, and part creative strategist. One day you might be pitching our services to a local employer, the next you’re hosting a workshop on ethical finance – no two days are the same, and we like it that way.
Before you read on, please note that this role is primarily based in East Midlands and Yorkshire and will involve a fair bit of travel.

- Maintaining up to date knowledge of all credit union products and services.

- Working to the policies and procedures including relevant legislation and guidelines set down by the Credit Union, the Financial Conduct Authority, the Prudential Regulation Authority, the Financial Ombudsman Service, the Information Commissioner’s Office and any other standards as instructed in the course of your duties.
- Strong initiative and driven by change and a constant need to improve.

- An advantage, but not a requirement: Business or Marketing Degree (or relevant qualification and or experience).
- Experience and understanding of Credit Unions or other financial institutions.
- Experience and understanding of Credit Unions membership base (Police, Military, Prison, Fire & Health).
We offer enhanced leave, an employer-contributed pension scheme and a friendly and relaxed working environment where you will be supported to develop yourself and your career. Serve and Protect is a great place to work, but don’t take our word for it! We are a Great Place to Work certified company and also earned a place on the Best Workplaces (Small), Best Workplaces for Wellbeing (Small) and Best Workplaces in Financial Services and Insurance (Small & Medium) in 2023.
