  • Raising awareness with colleagues of risk and compliance responsibilities and delivering information sessions.
  • Supporting the operation and development of the Credit Union’s risk management framework.
  • Providing support to the internal audit function including liaising with the internal auditor and Audit Committee.
  • Identifying staff training needs based on the outcome of compliance checks.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to create a culture of compliance.
  • Keeping up to date with and understanding relevant laws and regulations.

  • Providing an accurate and effective service to internal colleagues carrying out work impartially.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for internal queries in relation to the Compliance and Shared Services function.
  • Complying with data protection legislation and maintaining strict confidentiality and security in dealing with all information relating to the Credit Union and its members, in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Working to the policies and procedures including relevant legislation and guidelines set down by the Credit Union, the Financial Conduct Authority, the Prudential Regulation Authority, the Financial Ombudsman Service, the Information Commissioner’s Office and any other standards as instructed in the course of your duties.
  • Undertaking such other duties and responsibilities as are commensurate with the post and as may be required to meet business needs.

Requirements:

Essential skills:

  • Self-motivated and eager to learn and develop.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an office-based role.

  • Able to work on own initiative.
  • Able to analyse and interpret information quickly.
  • Understanding and appreciation of the Credit Union movement.
