Servaada is a separate legal entity, authorised by the FCA and has been set up by Wipro to provide regulated outsourcing services within the Financial Services industry. Our clients are leading providers for pension schemes and investment platforms. Servaada will be providing business and technology process outsourcing services and an end to end front and back-office operations support.
This new role establishes the Line 1.5 Investment Administration Risk & Controls function, acting as the operational and analytical bridge between Investment Administration (1LOD) and Compliance (2LOD). The role manages market surveillance, daily controls, reconciliations oversight, reporting, and analytics to ensure all relevant controls are executed before escalation.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and document the daily market‑surveillance control suite (price moves, DTV anomalies, news adjacency, peer alignment, liquidity shifts).
- Perform first‑level analysis of surveillance alerts, investigate exceptions, and escalate issues promptly where thresholds or patterns indicate concern.
- Identify behaviours, anomalies, or themes requiring 2LOD or senior‑management escalation.
- Oversee all 2‑way and 3‑way reconciliations across positions, pricing, market data, and broker/internal feeds, consolidating break analysis into a single oversight process.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis for breaks, provide challenge to IA teams, and ensure appropriate escalation and closure.
- Produce daily IA control MI, reconciliation oversight MI, and market‑surveillance analytics.
- Lead monthly thematic look‑backs across price behaviours, reconciliation trends, liquidity events, or news‑driven patterns.
- Maintain dashboards for IA governance, 2LOD reporting, JRCC, COWG, Board Packs, and Quarterly Compliance MI.
Investment Administration & Market Operations Expertise
- Interpret market events affecting IA (corporate actions, liquidity events, price volatility) and support decision‑making with data‑based insights.
- Provide analytical challenge to IA and Trading Support to strengthen operational execution and reduce control failures.
- Maintain the IA risk register and control inventory, ensuring clarity of ownership and control frequency.
- Identify gaps and drive automation or enhancement of IA controls and data quality.
- Ensure clear, timely MI and commentary for 2LOD oversight, senior governance, and client reporting.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the central coordinating point between IA, Compliance, Technology, Clients, Vendors, and Risk.
- Communicate issues, insights, and trends clearly and constructively to stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of IA, market operations, and UK MAR surveillance indicators.
- Experience with control operation, reconciliations, and market‑data analysis.
- Strong analytical skills (Excel, modelling, market data) and ability to produce clear MI and challenge.
- Excellent communication and the ability to constructively challenge internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Risk, or related discipline.
- 3–5+ years in IA, surveillance, risk, trading support, or middle office.
Success Measures (First 6–12 Months)
- Effective, timely execution and documentation of daily market surveillance controls.
- Strong oversight of reconciliations, with improved turnaround and reduced breaks.
- Embedded monthly look‑back reporting with actionable insights.
- Clear definition of Line 1 vs 1.5 vs 2LOD responsibilities.
- Improved control environment, reduced breaches, and strong audit outcomes.
