Purpose of the Role:
To support the commercial and estimating function by managing and coordinating engineering and project data, including interpreting drawings and translating technical information into structured Excel-based reporting. This role offers exposure to live civil engineering projects while developing core commercial and technical understanding.

Serply Recruitment Ltd is supporting a well-established civil engineering business with decades of industry experience. Due to continued growth and an increasing project workload across utilities and infrastructure sectors, they are seeking an Engineering Data Coordinator to support senior leadership in managing project data, documentation, and commercial inputs across multiple live projects.
KEY INFORMATION

- Hourly Rate: £14.00ph
- Shifts: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Role:
- Manage and maintain project and commercial administrative data across multiple live civil engineering projects
- Interpret engineering drawings and extract relevant data for tracking and reporting
- Support the preparation of commercial estimates and costings using structured Excel models (training provided)
- Assist with tender documentation and submission processes
- Produce reports, data analysis, and supporting documentation using Excel and other Microsoft tools
- Ensure accurate data entry, validation, and ongoing data integrity across project records
- Coordinate with engineers, estimators, and project teams to ensure alignment between technical drawings and commercial data
- Manage incoming communications including emails and project queries
- Attend occasional site visits to develop understanding of projects and data requirements
- Support senior staff and gradually take on increased responsibility within the commercial and estimating function
Key Skills Required:
- Strong Excel skills (including formulas, data handling, and reporting)
- Ability to interpret engineering or construction drawings desirable
- Experience working with structured data, documentation, or project information
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Numerically confident with the ability to work with cost and project data
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with technical teams
- Proactive, adaptable, and keen to develop within the civil engineering sector
