ob Title: Process Engineer / Process Developer Location: Broughton Hours: 37 Hours per WeekWorking HoursMonday to Thursday: 7:45am 4:15pm, Friday: 7:45am 12:45pmContract Type12-Week Temporary to Permanent / Potential for Direct Permanent Appointment from Day One for the Ideal CandidatePay & BenefitsTemp-to-Perm Route: Starting rate of £17.00 £18.00 per hour, dependent on experience and suitability / Rising to £20.00 per hour following successful completion of the 12-week period and permanent appointmentDirect Permanent Route (Ideal Candidate): Starting at £20.00 per hour from day one, equivalent to £38,480 per annum based on a 37-hour working weekAbout the RoleDue to continued business growth and the recent acquisition of two major customers, we are seeking a Process Engineer / Process Developer to join our expanding engineering team.We currently have one experienced Process Engineer and are looking to strengthen the department to support increasing customer demand, new product introductions, and future growth. With a significant influx of new work expected, this role will be key in ensuring the business can meet production demands while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.The successful candidate will work closely with our existing engineering resource to develop, improve, and support manufacturing processes across the business, playing a key role in both new project introduction and ongoing production optimisation.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes to support efficiency, quality, and cost controlSupport new product introduction (NPI) and customer project launches into manufactureCreate and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating proceduresDrive continuous improvement activities to reduce waste and improve productivityInvestigate manufacturing issues and implement corrective and preventative actionsCarry out root cause analysis and structured problem-solving activitiesWork closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Management teamsSupport tooling, fixture development, process validation, and equipment improvementsMonitor process performance and identify opportunities for efficiency gainsEnsure compliance with quality standards, customer requirements, and health & safety regulationsProvide technical support to production teams when requiredCandidate RequirementsEssentialExperience in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Process DevelopmentStrong understanding of manufacturing processes and improvement techniquesAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and specificationsStrong problem-solving and analytical abilityGood communication and organisational skillsCompetent in Microsoft OfficeDesirableExperience in precision engineering, machining, fabrication, aerospace, automotive, or similar manufacturing environmentsKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologiesExperience with New Product Introduction (NPI)HNC / HND / Degree or equivalent engineering experiencePersonal AttributesProactive and self-motivatedHigh attention to detailStrong team player with a collaborative approachAble to manage multiple prioritiesCommitted to continuous improvementKeen to develop within a growing engineering departmentSerply Recruitment Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
