- Temp-to-Perm Route: Starting rate of £17.00 - £18.00 per hour, dependent on experience and suitability / Rising to £20.00 per hour following successful completion of the 12-week period and permanent appointment
- Direct Permanent Route (Ideal Candidate): Starting at £20.00 per hour from day one, equivalent to £38,480 per annum based on a 37-hour working week
About the Role:
Due to continued business growth and the recent acquisition of two major customers, we are seeking a Process Engineer / Process Developer to join our expanding engineering team. We currently have one experienced Process Engineer and are looking to strengthen the department to support increasing customer demand, new product introductions, and future growth. With a significant influx of new work expected, this role will be key in ensuring the business can meet production demands while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will work closely with our existing engineering resource to develop, improve, and support manufacturing processes across the business, playing a key role in both new project introduction and ongoing production optimisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes to support efficiency, quality, and cost control
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and customer project launches into manufacture
- Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures
- Drive continuous improvement activities to reduce waste and improve productivity
- Investigate manufacturing issues and implement corrective and preventative actions
- Carry out root cause analysis and structured problem-solving activities
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Management teams
- Support tooling, fixture development, process validation, and equipment improvements
- Monitor process performance and identify opportunities for efficiency gains
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, customer requirements, and health & safety regulations
- Provide technical support to production teams when required
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
- Experience in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Process Development
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and improvement techniques
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong problem-solving and analytical ability
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Competent in Microsoft Office
Desirable:
- Experience in precision engineering, machining, fabrication, aerospace, automotive, or similar manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies
- Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI)
- HNC / HND / Degree or equivalent engineering experience
