Reporting To: Site Manager & Head Office
Role Purpose: Ensure Environmental and Health & Safety policy is implemented, maintained, and adhered to consistently across site operations.
CLIENT OVERVIEW: Our client is a global, sector-leading manufacturing organisation with multiple international sites. The Broughton facility is a long-established UK site and operates as a flagship production facility.
KEY INFORMATION:
- Reason for Vacancy: Increased focus on internal UK procedures and continuous improvement
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
- Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 7:45am - 4:15pm, Friday: 7:45am - 12:45pm (early finish)
- Holidays: 23 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays

THE ROLE: The purpose of this position is to ensure the organisation provides a safe working environment for all employees, fully compliant with Environmental, Health and Safety legislation and best practice. This is a standalone EH&S role, offering a strong opportunity for the successful candidate to further develop, coordinate, and shape the EH&S systems across the site. Success in the role will rely on personal drive, ownership, and the ability to operate proactively while responding effectively to unforeseen issues. The role involves regular communication with Head Office, participation in ongoing training, and responsibility for reporting on accident performance, waste management, and annual EH&S targets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure Environmental and Health & Safety policies are implemented consistently across site
- Monitor, evaluate, and review EH&S policies and procedures, making recommendations where required
- Identify training needs and deliver on-site EH&S training to employees
- Advise the management team on current and emerging EH&S legislation, including impact assessment and action planning
- Support managers in maintaining safe systems of work through advice, coaching, and hands-on support
- Assist with the implementation of EH&S systems and procedures, including accident reporting and COSHH compliance
- Carry out Health & Safety audits
- Ensure routine EH&S checks and activities are completed, recorded, and monitored
- Investigate accidents and incidents, or support investigations where appropriate, and implement corrective actions
- Manage all on-site environmental and waste processes, including identification, collection, storage, and containment
- Produce environmental and corporate EH&S reports
- Undertake any additional duties within the EH&S remit as required by management
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Essential: Up-to-date IOSH qualification, Previous experience working with EH&S processes and procedures within a manufacturing environment
- Desirable: NEBOSH qualification or actively working towards completion
