Purpose of the role: To prepare accurate project costings, tender submissions, and commercial proposals across civil engineering, infrastructure, and construction projects, supporting profitable project delivery and continued business growth.
Client brief: Our client is a well-established engineering consultancy delivering civil, structural, and infrastructure solutions across a diverse project portfolio. They are seeking an experienced Estimator to strengthen their commercial and pre-construction function as project demand continues to grow.

Contract: Contract
Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 (dependent on experience)
Shifts: Monday to Friday
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare accurate tenders, cost plans, and pricing submissions for civil engineering and construction projects
- Review technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Complete quantity take-offs, pricing exercises, and cost evaluations
- Source and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Support bid submissions, value engineering, and commercial strategy
- Prepare contract documentation and assist with pre-construction planning
- Identify project risks, opportunities, and margin improvement areas
- Liaise directly with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Contribute to securing profitable new business opportunities
Key Skills Required:
- Proven Estimating experience within civil engineering, infrastructure, construction, or consultancy sectors
- Strong commercial and financial understanding
- Experience producing BOQs, tender submissions, and detailed cost plans
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
- Strong communication and client-facing ability
- Proficiency in Excel and estimating software packages
- Knowledge of NEC / JCT contracts advantageous
- Full UK driving licence preferred
