Responsible to – Machine Shop Manager
Reason for vacancy – Continued growth
Contract – Temporary to Permanent (480 hours agency with guaranteed shifts and permanent contract on completion)
Hourly Rate - £15.00ph
Overtime Rate – 1.5x basic rate
Shifts - Mon to Thurs 8am-5pm, Fridays 8am – 4.30pm
Holidays – Accrual, 21 + Bank holidays when perm
Facilities – Site is a very clean and professional environment, very well kept, canteen and onsite parking, also with excellent public transport links to site

The role - Our client is looking for Welder/Fabricators to join their existing team in Worsley. This position is temporary to permanent, full time. The purpose of this position is to fabricate and weld mild and stainless steel components using all generalist engineering equipment including MIG welding guns, grinders, cutters, guillotines, and welding machines, to cut, shape, and assemble metal materials.
The responsibilities of this position are varied but not limited to:
- Fabrication of customer equipment
- MIG welding from jigs
- Reading and interpreting drawings to specification
- Ensure 5S standards are maintained in all areas
- Select appropriate materials based on project requirements and specifications
- Follow safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment
- Inspect fabricated components for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications
- Adhering to company health and safety requirements at all times
KEY SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Previous MIG welding experience
- Previous fabrication experience
- Ability to work from technical drawings
- Ability to pass company MIG weld test on interview
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
- Good level of verbal and written English
