Responsible to – Customs & Excise Manager
Purpose of the role – To run the function of the Customs Bonded/Excise Warehousing and Distribution operations as part of a pre-existing team operating these responsibilities.

KEY INFORMATION
- Reason for vacancy – Increased Demand
- Contract – 13-week temp to perm, full time
- Salary - £28,000- £34,000 per annum dependant on experience (suggested salary to be agreed on a candidate-by-candidate basis post interview)
- Shifts – Monday to Friday 8.30am-4.30pm
- Holidays – Accrual and 21 days + Bank Holidays when permanent

RESPONSIBILITIES
The role - Our client is looking for a Customs & Excise Coordinator to join their existing team on full time, temp to perm contract in their flagship Warehousing Operation on Trafford Park. As a Customs & Excise Coordinator, the requirements and responsibilities are varied but not limited to:
- Carry out the data entry of information into customs systems, identifying and resolving any discrepancies and prepare all documentation in an accurate and efficient manner to ensure the smooth flow of goods in and goods out.
- Complete monthly W1 returns onto local and HMRC systems to ensure compliance with all customs procedures and legal compliance.
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner to all relevant external and internal clients to maintain the key flow of information and adhere to HMRC rules & regulations.
- Support with all Bond issues with regard to damaged stock and all controlled disposal issues, ensuring adherence to HMRC procedures.
- Complete general administrative duties in an efficient and effective manner to deliver a world class service.
- Ensure all W5Ds are raised correctly, either manual or electronically, also ensuring the HMRC website is updated as required to avoid any financial impact to the business and our customers.
- Maintain relevant system by accurately inputting the required data, in addition to checking and reconciling data where appropriate and identifying and resolving any discrepancies to ensure 100% accuracy & legal compliance.
- Update, produce and communicate all business KPI’s to ensure great customer service & legal audits can be processed in a timely manner.
- Work as part of a team and participate in cross training initiatives to provide effective cover in a colleague’s absence.
- Operate a high standard of general housekeeping and work in a safe manner complying with all health and safety regulations in order to maintain a clean, safe and tidy working environment.
Your knowledge and experience:
- Working knowledge of basic administration principles
- Processes & procedures of Customs Bonded/Excise Warehousing
- Microsoft packages
- W1 & W5 HRMC declarations
- General administration tasks, preferably in bonded warehouse facilities
- Supporting a department with general administration tasks & training
- Working with HMRC systems, is desirable
