LEAD INFORMATION

Job Title – Engineering Quality Inspector

Site location – Barnstable

Responsible to – Operations Manager

Responsible for – Supporting the inspection functions of site, operating CMM machinery, conducting ‘first off’ & final inspections, in-process checks and First Article Inspection reports. Additionally, this role will cover a general quality engineering role, including the calibration of onsite measurement equipment.

Client brief – Our client is a global supplier of complex machined investment castings, in aluminium, steel, and vacuum melted super alloys supporting a multitude of industries with a large variety of client specific machined products

KEY INFORMATION

Reason for vacancy – Increased demand

Contract – Permanent

Basic pay – £35,000 – £38,000 (depending on experience)

Shifts – Monday to Thursday ONLY, 7am-5pm, 38 hours paid per week for basic hours

Breaks – 30 min lunch, early and late 10-minute break

Overtime – Regular optional overtime available paid @ 1.5x basic rate

Holidays – 25 days + Bank Holidays

RESPONSIBILITIES

The role – Our client is looking for an Engineering Quality Inspector to join their busy team in Barnstable on permanent contract. As an Engineering Quality Inspector your responsibilities are varied but limited to –

  • Performing all inspection duties in compliance with operating, workplace, and customer specifications.
  • Setting and operating CMM Machinery
  • Ensure machining process compliance according to company and customer requirements.
  • Interpret and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Key skills required
· Expertise in setting and operating CMM machinery.
· Competence with handheld manual measuring equipment.
· A proven history in precision engineering industry.
· Familiarity with AS9100/9001 quality management systems is highly advantageous but not essential.
· Knowledge of aerospace specifications is highly advantageous but not essential.
· Programming knowledge would be advantageous but not essential.
· Excellent attention to detail.
· A proactive mindset, and a strong ‘can do’ attitude.
