To support and help lead the delivery of civil engineering drainage design across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects, with a focus on SuDS and surface water management.
Our client is a well-established, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy seeking to grow their Cardiff team with a technically strong and forward-thinking drainage engineer who can contribute to both project delivery and team development.
Key Information- Reason for vacancy: Business growth and expansion of the drainage infrastructure team
- Contract: Permanent
- Salary: £50,000-£57,000 per annum depending on experience
- Shifts: Monday - Friday (Agile / flexible working available)
- Holidays: 24 days + bank holidays (including Christmas closure) +1 additional day per 5 years' service
- Facilities: Modern office environment with flexible / hybrid working options
- Assist in leading the delivery of civil engineering design across infrastructure projects
- Lead surface water and foul water drainage strategies and detailed designs
- Deliver SuDS and conventional drainage solutions
- Manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritise deliverables
- Provide technical support and assist with resource planning
- Support, mentor and develop junior engineers
- Liaise with statutory bodies including Natural Resources Wales and the Environment Agency
- Manage Water Authority approval processes (S104, S106, etc.)
- Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
- 7+ years' experience in surface and foul water design and/or construction
- Strong knowledge of Sewers for Adoption and Design Manual for Roads and Bridges
- Degree in Civil Engineering (Masters preferred)
- Chartered status with ICE or CIWEM (or close to completion)
- Proficient in: MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, Civils 3D, Autodesk ICM
- Experience with: S104 and S106 approval processes, SuDS Approval Body (SAB) approvals, National Planning Policy and flood risk management
- Demonstrable leadership and team management capability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
